Restylane® Refyne and Restylane® Defyne are dermal fillers injected under the (facial) skin. Once in place, they help smooth away your “laugh lines” – the wrinkles and folds that may form at the sides of your nose and run down toward the corners of your mouth. These next-generation dermal fillers were designed using a unique manufacturing process called XpresHAn Technology, which creates a smooth, injectable gel that can give your skin natural-looking results. XpresHAn Technology customizes the degree of HA cross linking in each product, resulting in gels with a range of flexibility and support characteristics for different patient needs. Restylane® Refyne is designed to be very flexible and provide subtle support, while Restylane® Defyne is designed to be less flexible and provide additional support.
Injectable fillers have been a major innovation in cosmetic care. As opposed to treatments that come in a jar or a tube, dermal fillers provide non-surgical anti-aging techniques that really work. After a single treatment, with no downtime, fillers can give the face a smoother, fresher, more youthful appearance.*
Although both of these products have been used in Europe for the past 7-years, they recently received their FDA-approval for usage in the United States.
Restylane Refyne is intended for the treatment of moderate to severe facial wrinkles or folds and provides more flexible support, while Restylane Defyne is a heartier, firmer product meant for the treatment of deeper facial-wrinkles.
Both Refyne and Defyne results last for approximately 12-months.*
How does this improve the current filler offerings?
“Almost every patient we see is interested in the results that fillers can produce, but sometimes dipping that first toe into the pool of injections can be the most daunting.”
“We are thrilled to be able to offer Refyne and Defyne, because these next-generation HA-fillers provide a great way to ease people into dermal-fillers. The results are definite, but natural-looking enough so that no changes are crazy-obvious to friends and family. Offering an option that lets these treatments fit easily into a normal person’s lifestyle and schedule is a key decision-making factor.”*
