If your skin does not tolerate Retin-A, then you may want to take a step backward to a .05 Retinol product. These can be less irritating but are certainly effective. 

Additionally, if you’re just starting out with retinol, it’s important you use a small-sized amount — this builds your tolerance to the ingredients.

It’s also worth mentioning that retinol doesn’t interact well with vitamin C. Therefore, these two should not be used at the same time. If you still want to include these two ingredients in your skincare routine, you can use vitamin C in the morning and retinol at night.
